I just came home from a
little "after work" clothing shopping spree and enthusiastically tried everything on I bought (in the comfort
and privacy of my apartment).
Lo and behold, how everything looked less satisfying than when I tried them on in the store's changing room. No changes had occurred to my purchases of course, the black dress and blazer still look like the latest thing in plus size fashion. They still enhance my professional look and I still appear to have my usual "smart self " look when wearing them...
YET, they do look a tad different. The colors are a slightly off, as if the taxi ride from downtown to my apartment uptown has caused them to fade. The ride uptown has worn me down considerably, as well. So it might be me, looking more tired and worn out than I was when trying them on in the store. But when I was putting my new clothes away in my dressing closet (yes, I only bought a black dress and a blazer, that’s how compulsive I am when it comes to shopping for clothes) it occurred to me that
the lighting in the store did make
my complexion look a tad different,
as well. So, I’m going to blame it all on the lighting and hope my new clothes will look just like the way they looked at the store under tomorrow’s sunny sky.
