I’ve recently noticed a lot of creatively designed necklines in casual plus size clothing. What seems like such a simple feature of a top can actually becoming a stunning accent that makes you look very stylish. Here are some of the ways in which modern designers are embellishing necklines:
Neckline Trim: A slight trim on the neckline of a plus size top can really change its style. A thin line of complementary colored fabric will stand out, flattering your body by elongating it visually. This is great for apple shaped women who want to accentuate their neck and chest.
Plunging, Scoop, And V-Neck: Casual plus size clothing designers are creating many blouses with plunging, scoop, and V-neck necklines because they are especially flattering to larger women. They can also be accessorized easily. A long or chunky necklace coordinates beautifully with these tops to create a style that is sure to get you lots of attention.
Stephen, Your Designer
“There is an amazing feeling of artistic accomplishment when all the parts come together into one harmonious aesthetic. It's a connection with who you are and the elements you choose to express yourself visually. This is what making clothing is all about for me. It's like when a songwriter hears his first written notes from a voice or a baker who has practiced a recipe and nails it or a figure skater who exceeds her own expectations. I express my sense of art in clothing. I see things in color, shape and texture. I react to the touch of silk on my skin and my eyes are aware of how color combinations make me feel. My goal is to bring all of these intuitive notions to garments that are sized for larger women. If I can accomplish this then I have reached my goal.” – Stephen
