Beach weddings are gorgeous events that combine the thrill and sentiment of a wedding with the lovely natural setting of the sea and sand. If you have been invited to a beach wedding this year, you certainly have an exciting event on your calendar. But you may be feeling worried about what you will wear. Don’t fret, though, because there are lots of great plus size clothing options for beach weddings. Womens plus size clothing can be elegant, comfortable, and stylish all at once.
Before you pick out your exact outfit or begin purchasing any new garments, be sure you know what the dress code will be. Some weddings are designated “beach formal” and should still hold to a certain level of formality even at the beach. This would include long summer dresses in bright colors or elegant floral prints. Your hair and makeup can be simple and natural so that it fits your outfit nicely.
For footwear, you can keep add a formal touch by choosing dressy sandals or flats that will be comfortable for walking on the sand but are not as informal as flip flops. Nautical jewelry can make for nice beach themed accessories. A simple, light colored handbag or clutch will fit the occasion nicely. Many ladies like to dress up their outfits with a sun hat; this has the added bonus of keeping your face cool and shaded. Sunglasses are a must as well if you want to be comfortable in the summer sun.
Beach casual weddings open up a lot more options for plus size clothing outfits. Still, most fashion experts and wedding planners agree that even a casual beach wedding should include semi-formal womens plus size clothing. A brightly colored tank top with a light cotton skirt will look lovely. Such a simple outfit offers a casual, yet wedding appropriate style that will have you looking your best.
Stephen, Your Designer
“There is an amazing feeling of artistic accomplishment when all the parts come together into one harmonious aesthetic. It's a connection with who you are and the elements you choose to express yourself visually. This is what making clothing is all about for me. It's like when a songwriter hears his first written notes from a voice or a baker who has practiced a recipe and nails it or a figure skater who exceeds her own expectations. I express my sense of art in clothing. I see things in color, shape and texture. I react to the touch of silk on my skin and my eyes are aware of how color combinations make me feel. My goal is to bring all of these intuitive notions to garments that are sized for larger women. If I can accomplish this then I have reached my goal.” – Stephen

June 13, 2013 at 2:56 amThe style I like, but I can’t see myself in the bright colors. It’s not that I think colours are a bad idea for a plus size gal, but a bad choice for the beach. If I’m on the beach, I’m wearing white or sand colour.
