Plus Size Clothing

Shopping for Plus Size Clothing on Etsy have you heard of it?  I am sure you have.  As you know, I LOVE to shop.   Finding plus size women’s clothing that is classic and has style is my hobby.  Have you ever typed in the search bar at the keywords: 3x plus size clothing?  (that’s my size and it is also a good way for me to go directly to my fit).  The search brings up some really nice tops, tunics and shirts being offered by small businesses.  You can find tunics from Thailand, India, Hong Kong and USA.  But the problem I discovered is their size chart.  Each plus size store online has their own fit. You just got to read it.  I found one shop from the USA who’s 2x is Generous Fashions 1x.  Then there is a shop in India who’s 3x are others XL.  You just got to read size charts.  Also, question the shop owner if their measurements are unclothed, usually that is the true numbers with no under gear.

Recently Generous Fashions launched some of their garments on this platform.  In just about 3 weeks GF has sold over 12 garments.  Why?  Apparently there are not enough choices for women wanting to purchase sizes 2x, 3x and 4x.  I personally had a hard time finding standard shirts but I found  a lot of vintage (quite nice), tie dye tunics and some fun skull head tee shirts.  But then this is what is so great about Etsy – creations by Artisan around the world.

When you have a chance take a look.  Maybe start off by typing in plus size clothing and then later refine your search.  Generous Fashions is currently uploading new tops and tunics about two times a week.  In about 21 days their new Collection for 2014 will be ready for browsing.

Have you ever made a purchase on Etsy?  Love to hear from my readers.

Stephen, Your Designer

“There is an amazing feeling of artistic accomplishment when all the parts come together into one harmonious aesthetic. It's a connection with who you are and the elements you choose to express yourself visually. This is what making clothing is all about for me. It's like when a songwriter hears his first written notes from a voice or a baker who has practiced a recipe and nails it or a figure skater who exceeds her own expectations. I express my sense of art in clothing. I see things in color, shape and texture. I react to the touch of silk on my skin and my eyes are aware of how color combinations make me feel. My goal is to bring all of these intuitive notions to garments that are sized for larger women. If I can accomplish this then I have reached my goal.” – Stephen
